— Öznur AçıkalınI was in the second grade of primary school, and my sister Havva was studying at university. Whenever they came, we would run to their house. We would stay together that night. My sister Havva had brought us our first reading books, which were from Can Publishing. We had read the book My Sweet Orange Tree together.
This photo was taken during her visit to her teachers at Denizli Vocational School of Commerce when she came to Denizli from Ankara for a holiday. She always loved us dearly and was always by our side. She held our hands when we were tiny and never let go. We would wait for their return from university with great excitement; we would go to the bus station both to welcome them and to see them off.
There would be long sewing days during the summer holidays. Together with my sister Kezban, both of them having ten skills on their ten fingers, beautiful meals would be cooked and sewing would be done.
The most beautiful days of our childhood were spent in their house in Dokuvaklar. I love her so much. Her voice saying “sweetie” is in my ears every single day. Memories that are endless to tell… An angel with a huge heart and a huge smile passed through this world…
