From You

My sister was born on the day when the days begin to lengthen following the longest night. It is as if her life passed in the same way, by bringing more and more light.

She worried and strove for how more goodness could reach her own family, the family she came from, and her city. I think what bound me to her most was the way she accepted me without judgment. Her way was not one of harsh words, clever remarks, or dry advice. It was about giving the strength and faith to grow the good within a person. She was truly interested and she truly kept herself informed.

She put so much effort into ensuring that such a large family, which grew and branched out over the years, remained connected for several more generations. We could feel her love and sincerity, and that she truly cared; even when we were far away, we knew how she followed our lives and how much she valued us.

May the beauty of her soul continue in her lineage, may she be remembered with kindness, and may the paths of those she left behind be clear and their faces as smiling as hers.
